Visit the living room of Den Helder
Why would I visit a school? School 7 used to be a school but nowadays it’s one of the libraries in Den Helder and is also called the living room of the city. Find a book, take a seat, and enjoy the beautiful view. Next to reading you can plan your meetings in one of their meeting rooms, drink a coffee in the café, or take a language course. And if you are looking for a location to get married, School 7 is your place to be. Enough reasons for the library to win the Public Library of the Year Award in 2018.

2. Theatre de KampanjeÂ

The enormous building of the theatre used to be a shipyard. If you walk inside the theatre, you can still see the historical elements, like glass, brick, wood, and steel. For the architecture of this old, historical building the theatre won the Arie Keppler Architecture Award in 2016. 3. The National Lifeboat museum
The National Lifeboat Museum gives you a thrilling all-round experience.

5. Hortus Overzee
Discover the secret gardens of the city
Do you feel like you need a break from the uplifting events at Sail, this is a perfect place to search for peace and quietness. The botanical garden is within 10 walking minutes from the Sail area. It’s divided into several areas: the Japanese garden, and different greenhouses. In the Japanese garden, you can look at beautiful flowers and take nice pictures. In the different greenhouses, you can find butterflies, fish, and birds next to exotic plants.
After admiring nature, you can enjoy delicious homemade snacks and strawberry cake, while sipping tea. The perfect place to calm down.
